gig, which was named and designed for the ‘gig economy’, is a platform that matches shift-working professionals with businesses of all sizes in London in the hospitality and retail sectors.
The introduction of gig means people no longer have to work the traditional 9-5. It enables people to wake up one morning, find and book work through the app, complete a shift and then they automatically get their pay within 24 hours.
Antony Woodcock, Co-Founder & CEO
At the age of just 26, Antony Woodcock has already established a wide-ranging portfolio of successful business ventures; from Maki, a challenger brand to high-street sushi stores, to Parliament House Hotel, a boutique hotel in the heart of Edinburgh which he owns and runs, and now, his latest venture, gig.
gig is an online platform that matches shift-working millennials with businesses of all sizes. Beginning with the hospitality and retail sectors, gig is helping millennials to find shift work within minutes.
Antony’s experience and entrepreneurial eye mean he acts when he sees opportunities. The concept of gig came after Antony had difficulty recruiting shift-workers for one of his high-street retail stores, Maki.
