Company presentation
labfolder is the operation system for laboratories: It helps researchers to plan their experiments and resources, connect to lab instrumentation, organize data in a compliant way, collaborate with others, and to aggregate extremely valuable data, so that researchers benefit from better insights, improved efficiency and increased reproducibility.
The software comes at a recurring fee per user, and we have special campus plans for entire organizations, such as the Max Planck Society.

Simon Bungers, CEO
Simons professional background is in molecular biology, and after studying in Germany, the US and Italy, he spent 4 years in the laboratory – researching, studying and publishing while doing his PhD at the Max-Planck-Institute of Experimental Medicine (Göttingen, Germany).
After finishing his PhD, Simon briefly worked for LEK consulting, an international M&A consulting firm before he founded his first e-commerce startup, which he successfully sold in 2013.
In 2013, Simon also started labfolder together with Florian Hauer, a research colleague from his PhD times. Since then, besides his role as CEO, Simon has been operational in almost every possible role you can find in a company. He has been designing the product, run marketing campaigns and done sales. He has raised money from investors, hired and managed employees, he pivoted, restructured teams and guided the company towards new or changed goals.
In 2015, Simon did his first investment into another startup – and he’s very happy to support and advise great young founders, because there is always something he can learn from them as well!
