Interactive videos will redefine social media – Mosaeek perspective

By 9th October 2019 October 23rd, 2019 News

In preparation for the upcoming NOAH London, we have chatted with Mosaeek about the company and the current trends in the interactive video content. The CEO and founder of Mosaeek Raphael Allstadt is going to pitch at the conference on 30-31 October at Old Billingsgate.

Could you tell us more about Mosaeek?

Mosaeek re-defines social network by enabling bi-directional video communication. Our time-tagged video reaction functionality (a.k.a. the ‘SoundCloud for video’) enables a contextual and authentic interaction between the content creators and their audiences.

We transform the entire viewing experience by unleashing personal feedback and engagement for the content. Any point in any video can become a potential trigger for the viewer to jump in to react – and to get lost in the Mosaeek universe.

When and why did you launch the business?

We started pursuing the project early summer 2018 and launched our private beta in July 2019. We noticed the video traffic trending (by 2022 video will account for 82% of all IP traffic, up from 75% today, according to Cisco report) and saw an opportunity to increase engagement of the video content itself.

Online video was, and still is, quite one-directional with little engagement possibilities at scale. That is how the idea for Mosaeek was born. We are excited to see the number of use cases growing beyond online education over political debates and to social interaction among friends and strangers.

Why do you think the company will be successull?

We believe that now is the perfect timing for such a platform to grow into mainstream, because 5G is around the corner, blockchain will help reduce COGS significantly, users are more used to generating UGC through Instagram, Twitch and YouTube, and people are increasingly seeking for personal and authentic interaction on the internet.

Are you planning to raise funds over the coming months and what criteria should your ideal investor have?

We are always happy to meet interested investors. For us it is very important to partner with investors that understand the social video space, and also the importance of community building. If you are interested, feel free to reach out to the founder Raphael Allstadt.
