Today, we’re chatting with Andreas Pusch, CEO & Founder of YUKKA Lab who will be presenting on our Startup Stage at our conference on 30-31 October at Old Billingsgate.
Could you tell us more about YUKKA Lab?
Mastering the information overload – YUKKA Lab has developed a real-time currency for the sentiment of every company, index, industry, topic or person based on their proprietary Augmented Language Intelligence Technology. We combine state of the art NLP, Machine Learning & AI to provide a systematic overview of sentiment trends in the news and the topics fueling those trend shifts. Be always on top of the latest news development around your investment and customers. YUKKA Lab empowers Investors to make better informed decisions, Researchers to transfer their knowledge within the organization, Advisors to deliver advisory excellence and support Sales Units with news-based lead recommendations.
When and why did you launch the business?
YUKKA Lab was launched in 2014. Our founder Andreas had been working a lot with financial modelling in the past. He realized though, that the mood of market participants was never considered in these models. YUKKA Lab changes this fundamentally.
What are your biggest milestones to date?
Having completed the Kickstart Accelerator program in Switzerland with the most secured POC’s and partnerships in various industries has enabled us to quickly grow in different verticals. In addition, we are happy to announce that YUKKA was selected for the PlugandPlay Enterprice accelerator in Silicon Valley and PlugandPlay Insuretech in Munich. Furthermore, this has again showed us that there is a definite need for our product in the market and that businesses are open for implementing this technology into their core business processes.
What is your target market and how big is it?
Our main target market right now are other corporates with background in financial services, consulting, sales or marketing & communication. The global market is estimated to be worth €5bn.
Why will you be successful?
Through having a working product as well as customers that are already using it as part of their day-to-day business, we not only have proof that the technology and our solution is working but we are also able to benefit from a constant stream of feedback and potential ideas that would make the product better. Our team of very experienced professionals in their respective fields further enables us to build these features that clients actually want. That will help us be even more successful in the long run.
What is your next big challenge?
Entering new markets and finding B2B customers outside the DACH region is very time intense.
What are you looking for at NOAH?
We are especially interested in meeting partners that can help us gain customer traction in the UK market and of course looking for strategic investors.
Are you planning to raise funds over the coming months and what criteria should your ideal investor have?
We are currently looking to raise another €1m as part of a €2m Seed-B round. As we have a working product, an ideal investor needs to have a lot of contacts in the Financial Services and Consulting Industry in various markets (especially UK, Asia and United States), as we are currently looking to expand into other markets.
